Logo Critiques

Microsoft uses a mechanical technique when they were creating their logo. They use straight lines and sharp edges to convey a sort of technological approach to their look. Their use of a flag-like look is used to convey their message of being a diverse company there to serve a diverse group of people and to portray their diverse portfolio of products. The logo is recognizable everywhere and I'm sure their goal was to do just that. Their logo is a flag for their company making Microsoft a sort of country. For the logotype (Microsoft) they are using the Segoe font which, according to the General Manager of Microsoft, is the same font they have used for their past products and the symbol is a key component in the world of digital motion. I like their use of multiple colors because it gives a sort of vibrant and happy feeling when you look at the logo. The message behind the logo makes you understand why the different colors are used. Apple uses a very sleek approach to its logo. The logo which is basically an apple with a bite into it. The logo is simple because Apple's goal was to have a logo that as very simple and was able to be recognized without having to think about the design. I really like their approach on this because sometimes when a logo has too much then it is hard to remember  that specific design. In the end i like the Microsoft logo much better because the logo conveys such a greater message for their company.
